The Inevitable Pseudo Intellectualization of The Pseudo Model Phenomenon

The first rule of being a model, you don't talk.  The second rule of being a model, refer to rule number one.

The inevitable pseudo intellectualization of the pseudo model begins.  Epic Fail.  I like her the same regardless. (note to Chau:  don't be intimidated, if you were, by this professor or the academic setting, his questions aren't necessarily hard or intellectually challenging.  If you feel like it's a dumb question, probably it is.  What's profound is how far you have gone from where you were to where you are now.  Enjoy your fame and fortune.)

  4. That "professor" and the way he asked his pseudo-intellectual questions, OMG, it's even more embarrassing listening to him than listening to Chau! (And I'm speaking as an academic of course...)

Anyway, well done LCL, at least you spelt "pseudo" right, not like those so-called "journalists" at Hong Kong Standard (the complimentary newspaper we got at the HK hotel), who reported on the phenomenon of "peudo" models. Oh, kill me now!

  5. Hong Kong Standard doesn't want to come across as an elite newspaper so they intentionally misspelt the word "pseudo." Understandable. Actually I misspelt one myself and just got it corrected. But I pride myself being a semi-illiterate. Ha ha.

Does anyone know why the English term for "Leng Mo" is pseudo-model instead of, say, teenage model? Is it because the word pseudo has the connotation that they're not properly trained as models and so they're unprofessional when they do their modeling work?

Look, buddies, how excited wp2007 were when you blogged about Chau [or Chow?]. He/She was so carried away that he/she left three comments in a row here. I won't surprise.

-> if he threw this at me, i wouldn't know how to reply anyway. XD

  8. Sid: I don't know why "Leng Mo" has become pseudo model. I don't know exactly the etymoloy of the Chinese "Leng Mo" but I guess there is just not a good English translation to it. So to take the essence of part of it it uses pseudo and drops the other meanings, like young, kiddie. I don't know if you can come up with a better term, kiddie quasi-model. That would be closer to the Cantonese coinage of "Leng Mo."

wp2007 is very excitable when it come s to Leng Mo. Actually modern and contemporary history as well. Actually I have to thank him for the transcript. I didn't read that. And the video is definitely biased with the voice over add-on video animation.

    cr:
I would say yes. Self-photography is a form of exhibitionism which is a way to standout in the mass, to be different, to be noticed. Not or even just another cog of the machinery. So yes.

Civil War (2024)

This is basically a Dorothy yellow brick road kind of story.  Also, something to do with the new replaces the old, the circle of life thing....
