AF-S 80-200 f/2.8

I've never owned or used this lens before. Instead I have the AF-D version. The AF-S is supposed to be faster. Nikon discontinued this lens and replaced it with the AF-S 70-200 f/2.8. I have the first version a friend of mine gave me.

If you have extra cash but not extra enough to buy the AF-S 70-200 f/2.8 then perhaps this AF-S 80-200 f/2.8 is not a bad choice at all. If I ever break the AF-S 70-200 f/2.8 then I won't be able to replace it.

Auto focus of AF-D lenses won't work on the Z cameras with the FTZ adapter. More reason to get the AF-S instead of the AF-D 80-200 f/2.8 lens.

2015 Kissena Twilight Series Week 14

This is done with pan. The yield should be higher if only I remember to stay very focus, and just follow and predict where the movement is going to be.

2014 Long Island Cyclocross in Kings Park

I couldn't ask for a better first cyclocross shooting experience.
There were some valuable lessons learned. My camera is not exactly water proof or resistant after 4 hours in the rain, LL Bean wading jacket is neither despite its Gore-tex designation (granted it's 4 years old). Good thing I had another pull-over kayak paddling jacket worn underneath. I was able to keep body dry the whole time which I think is important. People buy expensive gears for very good reasons if you were to shoot in all conditions professionally. Me ain't professional, toward the end of the shoot, my camera LCD was blown and the AF acted somewhat erratically. My makeshift double zip lock bags rain cover couldn't save my camera in the end. It was too dark for me to shoot anyway. The venue was the abandoned Kings Park Psychiatric Center.
