You did great. It was a great shot. I like the natural light in particular. BTW, what were the difficulties you encountered?
ReplyDeleteThe whole environment wasn't easy. We were guests and I couldn't move around at least I didn't do it. The lighting was dim especially where Alex was. This was taken when his teacher announced her class one student at a time. When the name was called he stood up, one after another. The AF at this point wasn't functioning, it went out of focus completely, probably because of low light or whatever. So I had to toggle the power off and on again. And students in front of him started to stand up, the mortar hat, the tassels were blocking his face from me. I was giving up but still I took a few shots, and this was the very last one. You miss 100% of the shots if you didn't take any. The best shots always happen to be the last ones, the least you expect. The color is a bit too warm but I don't bother with any PS magic here, not that I know enough to make anything sufficiently better. I am glad I brought my tripod, experience tells me it helps a lot. There is no way I can shoot hand held at 1/60 on 200mm and have reasonably sharp pictures. I don't want to go over ISO 1250 @f/4.
DeleteI can understand the difficulties facing you at the time. I would have given up if it were me. You are a great photographer, and a great dad, Robert.
