Cinelerra ...

This is not working for me. I tried for a few hours and things weren't getting any better. In fact it got worse. The program got flaky and I had to force quit the thing more than once. I don't like it one bit but I am not giving up yet.

  1. hi Laichungleung,

Cinelerra doesn't read all video format and codec. And for certain tasks Cinelerra is not good (eg. Video capturing over firewire)
I advice you to compile the source of the svn Cinelerra-Community Version (aka Cinelerra-CV ==> http://cv.cinelerra.org/svnusage.php#anon).
Another time, if you need help to use this software you can find users on irc://freenode.org/cinelerra (Do you know how to use an irc?).
    You can email-me to wildhostile (gmail.com, hotmail.fr).
By the way there are other alternatives too; like OME or kdenlive or jahshaka. Did you try them? Recent jahsahka doesn't want to install on my Fedora9. I found a workaround with Wine and the windows version. And it works!

    Good luck man

  2. hi wildhostile,

I will give them a try and see how far I can go.

I am new to irc too, so I haven't really tried it out. I was researching it and I think pidgin can be a client too. Anyway, I will research a bit more when I got the chance. Man I was just trying to do some in my mind simple video editing, and it's always one thing leads to another....

I will post back if I got any progress over the weekend.

    Thank you sir.
