With the out break of swan flu continue, I hope your trip back to HK is not affected.
ReplyDeleteHahaha.
ReplyDeleteI finally got my 80-200 back from Nikon 2 days ago. It took quite a long time. I am glad I got it taken care of.
I am sure the service you could get from US is better than HK.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good lens indeed.
The actual service center is on Long Island, not far from where I live. The lens is good. But actually I am surprised that the filter thread is plastic, and the auto/manual focusing switch is such a design fault that it breaks by itself. I did a search and it seems like a common problem. Of course newer lenses don't have this design problem as you can just change to manual focusing w/out turning any switch on any ring. As a telephone lens for sports is too short even for DX. But quality wise it's top notched I think. So I seldom seldom use it. The surprisingly good cheapo one is actually the 17-80 that came with my D70. If you are not fixated on Bokeh kind of stuff, this is a great lens just don't expect to have any nice bokeh.
