  3. ghorse,
thank you. i was surprised to see it when sucking out the jpeg from my cf card. I just snapped the shutter while on the bridge. i must have done it a dozen times. but yes this is a good one even shooting through the windshield on a moving car.

    happy new year.

Every time I read your response to someone here, I'll laugh.

  7. This is an entertainment blog so it's okay to laugh.

I did it 3 times this year I think. It's free if you bring your own skates, otherwise I think it's $12 rental. I do it during lunch time, and after work once. If you see a beggar skating or limping and laboring along the rail, that would be me.

i love the first pic! which bridge is it?

i'm a lousy ice-skater. well, i'm actually lousy at ANY sports...i so envy people who can skate.

  9. hongkie, it's the Queensboro bridge between Long Island City in Queens and 59th St in Manhattan.

I only can skate somewhat. Nothing fancy like jumping up and spinning.

  10. Bring your skates (or rent them) if you come to Ottawa in the middle of winter when the 7 Km long canal is open. The city claims it's the world's longest rink, altho I did witness the Dutch doing their marathon skating on even longer stretches of ice.

Best wishes to your family :)

Thank you, and best wishes to you and yours too.

  12. Lovely pics! I'm only a so-so skater also, but you're lucky that you had a skating rink almost right on your doorstep at work. We only had 2 ice-skating rinks in Dublin and they only opened over the holiday period.

  13. Snowdrops:
I go there every day now as some exercise. Knowing that it's free I might as well use it. Nothing comes easy especially when I started late like 30 years late. I am trying to tackle the forward cross-over, it looks easy but I'm still struggling. But still, I am doing better now than the start of the winter season. I learned the maneuvers from Youtube, I think it helps.

Barber Shop in Chinatown

Nowadays I loathe to have my haircut, that's why I seldom have mine cut, maybe once or twice a year. I went back to Chinatown. I could ...
