This is what happened when I had too much Coke (the beverage) in the evening. I couldn't fall asleep. So at the risk of boring my readers (all 3 of them), I shall further litter the blogosphere with yet another uninspiring post.
I was talking about those Shuron retro looking eyeglasses with Sid and that reminded me of two guys who famously or rather infamously wear those glasses with great success. In my mind they are like evil twin brothers, pornographer-cum-photographer Terry Richardson and pornographer-cum-clothier Dov Charney. Both of them wear very 70s retro looking eyeglasses similar to Shuron's Sportivo. Their similarity doesn't stop at fondness for ugly looking eyeglasses. They also share a passion for no-fuss-head-on-flash-in-your-face photography. Terry Richardson has great success using point and shoot cameras for big name clients like Gucci, Calvin Klein and UNIQLO. Terry Richardson is living proof that you don't need a $10,000 camera (back) to shoot for a living. I read he uses a Yashica T4 or some similar Contax point and shoot. And Dov Charney routinely shoots for his company's ad campaign. Both of their works are infamously provocative.
Warning: NOT WORK SAFE. NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 18 or ADULTS WHO FIND NUDITY OR SEXUALLY CHARGED IMAGES OFFENSIVE.
More Terry Richardson and Dov Charney.

ReplyDeleteJust point and shoot. No fuss. No question asked. No expensive camera.
ReplyDeleteI like that idea.
But I don't like their glasses.
ReplyDeleteI remember in the late 1970s and early 80s people wore very large eyeglasses. My wife had a pair too.
