Latest Obsession (as if you care)
I ordered two pairs of Shuron from some online retailer. If you are bored, you can check out their catalog and guess which two pairs I bought. Some or all of their models are shockingly dated or LLT (which suits me just fine, I drive a mini van ... so) if you will. Anyway, they don't have any logo on the outside of the arms, so I am sold.

A piece of cake. I read you like a book, man.
ReplyDeleteFirst thing first, a pair of shades are indispensible as far as you're concerned. And that'd be the MacArthur 52.
And the Oscar goes to: [This is a bit more tricky] the TRIPLEPLAY.
I was about to say to you that Kevin Costner wears a pair of RONSIR ZYL in JFK and then I clicked to get a closer look. Bingo!
But I have 2 pair of shades already. If I misplaced them, then yeah, maybe I will get another pair. But not this time. This time is only for regular eyeglasses. I intend to get the prescription filled when I am in Hong Kong. Over here, they don't do glasses, only plastic (for safety) plus their super thin is not as thin as that in Hong Kong. The one I am wearing is from Hong Kong as well, frames also. But it's getting dirty and oxidized to the the wire inside. Anyway.
ReplyDeleteTripleplay is for serial killer or serial pornographer like Dov Charney. I couldn't possibly pull off that look. I had a similar pair when I was about 13 years old I think.
Oh, I just remember the name, Terry Richardson, he wears one of those pornographer eyeglasses too.
ReplyDeleteI've lost my last comment due to faulty or slow connection.
ReplyDeleteOkay, try again. The Brown Smoke Freeway and the Grey Demi Classic 401.
In fact I was pretty undecided between the Freeway and the Sidewinder.
I'm not as confident as I was this time around.
Don't tell me the first pair is the Cable Sidewinder.
I think doing glasses for eye gear is a profitable business. If that's true, they've forgone lots of revenue as well as profits.
ReplyDeleteYou think I look good in Demi Grey 401? Again, that's another serial killer looking frame. You have to be pretty sick to pull off that look in the 21st century.
ReplyDeleteOKAY, tell you I have the Sidewinder with matching ebony side. It's very RayBan Rayfarer look except it doesn't have the logo. So that's a plus. The other pair is a Freeway crystal. For some reason, I think crystal is hot. They came already and they actually fit pretty okay, consider I have a big head. I have a hard time finding the frames that fit. I ordered the largest size available.
Some of the styles are really wild and only hipsters or genuine nerds without irony can pull off that look.
I think I'm a serial killer deep down then, at least according to Freud.
ReplyDeleteIf not for the shades that'd misled me, I would've said the Freeway on the first occasion.
I got 75 marks out of 100 the second time. [In horse-racing parlance, the Freeway was a 'banker' while I was not so sure about the 401 and the sidewinder, the 'selections'.] That's not too bad.
Do you think the Freeway and the Sidewinder look pretty similar except for their arms?
Yes, I think they do look very similar especially for the uninitiated, ha ha.
ReplyDeleteThe sidewinder's ebony arm has a more distinctive curve which I like and most people don't care. The eye piece looks almost identical to me except for the hinge ornament.
OKAY enough anal retentive BS.
"Hinge ornament" - those were the words I'd been searching for in vain in my rather limited vocabulary.
ReplyDeleteFor the uninitiated [you taught me one more new word yet again], you'd look good, I think very good, wearing both, the Freeway crystal in particular.
Don't believe a word I said. I just made them up, i don't know if they are accepted usage.
ReplyDeleteI am glad my feeble mind can serve you some good.
I am off tomorrow ....
A lot of good, I'd say. You thought I'm writing to you guys just for the fun of it. There's more to it than meets the eye. I've learned a lot by writing to you in English.
ReplyDeleteI know both words individually but I couldn't even make up the description 'hinge ornament' when I wanted to describe it.
That really sucked.
Have a wonderful day off.
