Trend

What's the trend of otherwise beautiful people wear decidedly uncomplimentary eyeglasses? Is it a revolt to chic or a tribute to uber photographer Terry Richardson?

well, i guess it depends - naturally beautiful people can do this, but it's certainly not for everybody. i mean, you have to admit it shows a lot of confidence for someone to take an effort to "look ugly". and it is that confidence that makes the person more beautiful and real.

  2. Oh, boy I guess ugly people can never win. It's like if you are ugly you wear something ugly well that makes you ugly too. If you try to be pretty and people say you are trying too hard and goes overboard and that makes you ugly too. If beautiful people try to look ugly they may actually win accolades for being daring. Oh brother. This is just so unfair.

  3. agree with hkie..

i mean, you'll find the girl looked ugly in the photo but can still recognise her as beautiful.

and i guess sometimes they just want to try out different things, silly styles or try to hide away from being beautiful once in a while? ;)

  4. Yes, that's what I always try to do too, trying to look ugly. But truth be told, I DON'T need to try. Ha ha.

The girl looks pretty, that is, if you like a bit of a boyish hipster look, like our Brigitte Lin (when she was her age, minue the hipster part). She is pretty but not in the most drop dead gorgeous feminine way. She carries a hint of androgynous air.

  5. We have seen enough movies to expect that when a woman takes off her pair of uncomplimentary glasses and let loose her hairs (among other things), men would just drop their jaws and fall for the ugly duckling-turned-Snow White.

Unfortunately, I am not sure if the same trick would transform a man wearing a pair of nerdy glasses into prince charming.

Nerdy glasses? Check. I have my spandex on? Yes, check. Now, where is the nearest phone booth?
