The big news of course was iPhone. Steve Jobs, the purveyor of cool finally answered the perennial prayers of its fanboys and gave them and the world iPhone. Cisco, without missing a beat, say iSue, claiming trademark infringement of the name iPhone.
For $250 million for 5 years or $1 million a week, David Beckham is moving to LA. Does America care about soccer? It never did and probably never will.

so you think the boss of LA Galaxy is a fool ? probably not, the jersey of LA Galaxy with Beckham or No. 23 are sold out
ReplyDeleteYes. I think it's ridiculous by every definition of the word.
ReplyDeleteyou woke up at 7.20am on Sunday to write your Blog, I remembered once you said you are no longer early bird ?? for me, last night I slept at 3am after watching "The Flags of our Fathers", woke up at 1pm, then slept again at 6pm until 8pm
ReplyDeleteFYI, I retired as a soccer player early last year. No farewell matches. I just retired. Since then, my former clubmates were always asking me if I could play for the team again. At the age of 45, what do you guys think?

wp2006, bc I need to reply to your comment that's why I need to get up early.
ReplyDeleteold vince ... it's the right thing to do just stopped playing without any dramatic farewell or such. Now, I think if you are not playing World Cup level soccer, you can alway go back to play for fun and kick as long as you feel up to it physically and mentally. You just finished a marathon so I guess you are fitter than most 40 year old anyway. Harrison Ford is doing Indiana Jones and Stallone is doing Rocky and First Blood....45 is the new 25 man.
Robert, you life are bounded by your Blog just like my life bounded by the HK Yahoo Auction. For Vincent, I suppose he can played in some Amercian Teams, George Best and David Beckham can continue his career in their late 30+ (Beckham's 5 year contact when in his 36+, cetainly Vincent can. for me, I will take my "Green-Belt" blet qualifying exam in 2 weeks' time with little Tsz Chun
ReplyDeleteI mean the "Green-Blue" Blet, the intermediate stage between Blue and Green Blet, if I pass, I will get my body supporter and can start the combat fighting
ReplyDeleteHave you been busy playing football, Vincent? My two cents is/are that you ought to retire from Association Football and focus more on the Marathon. Forty-five is the golden age for Marathon runners, or so I heard.

I read from local newspapers that the average annual pay for a US professional soccer in the US league is US100,000. They are jealous of what Beckham got and say all the bad world, Beckham played 20 mins in US equivalent to their annual pay. I think if it's really true, the pay is still higher than HK league
ReplyDeleteA marathon runner is at his/her peak when he/she is in his/her early thirties. For a tennis player, late twenties; for a swimmer, late teens. For a 45 year-old, I can't think of anything he/she is good at.
