Cingular 8125

Every 2 years or so, I would do my homework on cell phone.

My latest little obsession is the Cingular 8125, which should be the same as T-Mobile's MDA. Because of untested reception and anecdotes regarding T-mobile's poor reception around where I live, so I stick with Cingular if possible.

In Flushing, most shops don't carry the phone in stock. And online, if this phone is selected, you can't uncheck any data plan, the least is 19.99 and the most expensive data plan is 39.99. I was hoping to just get a cheap voice plan and all data via free WiFi.

Guess Cingular doesn't like the idea one bit. To me, they might as well not carry the phone all together if I have to have data plan in order to buy the phone.

Do I need the Cingular 8125? Absolutely not.

Be there. I can't wait to meet Ash and Pikachu.

Manhole breathes Fire in Woodside, Queens

Manhole is all the rage now. And I thought it only happens when a guy eats too much chilly. Video hosted in YouTube found via Gawker media.

On another unrelated, I always find the Time Warner or other cable companies' Triple Play plan oddly amusing. Triple Play, I don't know about you, I think it can be from the playbook of some sex trade. Triple Play, I like the idea ... cable TV, VoIP and Broadband Internet access ....

103 inch Plasma TV

[picture linked from nytimes.com, credit: Kiyoshi Ota/Reuters]

Blogger is messing up, so can't upload any pictures, just use your imagination. Or go to the New York Times. Forget about the link, look it up yourself.

Panicsonic, the plasma king, is introducing the ludicrously huge 103 inch plasma TV.

It's selling quite arbitrarily for $70,000; very lovely women not included.

"Don't make me take off my sunglasses"

For some reason, I can't figure out where I left my sunglasses. I am pretty good at misplacing things. I am old fashioned and kind of retarded so I think aviator with B-15 glasses just fit me well, all these years.

Con Ed doesn't care about Astoria

Because Astoria is not upper east side or upper west side. It's just Queens. So Con Ed let the blackout continue, since last Monday.

Breaking: New Nikon 10.2 MP DSLR in 20 Days

Nikon, in 20 days is going to announce a new 10.2 MP DSLR.

And why am I not getting excited?

For any more mega pixels, I need to buy a new PC to handle the file size and transfer. A well built and feature rich camera body helps a great deal but you need good lens to match.

And above anything else, mega pixels and lenses can't replace hardwork and talents. Let's see what Nikon has to offer in 20 days. If anything, it provides more discussion material in dpreview.com.

Spy Kids, Live in Hong Kong

"Grandma, I am going to turn you in, and I'm not even sorry."

[poster from maopost.com via Google images, all rights belong to their rightful owners]

Inspired by Robert Rodriguez's Spy Kids movie series and probably Mao's Cultural Revolution, Hong Kong is enticing elite kid force to rat out their peers on online piracy.

Boy scouts will patrol online forums for any suspect copyright violations. They would report on their brothers, sisters, teachers, friends, parents, grand parents and grand grand parents if they dare to put any BitTorrent seeds out there so other people can listen to their horrid choice of Canto pops or whatever they think is oh-so-cool.

Other countries are immensely interested in this youth program ... or not.
Dean Boyd, a Homeland Security Department spokesman in Washington, said that the United States had no plans to introduce a similar program, partly because of liability concerns. Deron Smith, a spokesman for the Boy Scouts of America, said in an e-mail message that the group had no plans to ask scouts to report infringements to law enforcement officials.

Chinatown

Posted by Picasa

We called it a day after he did his obligatory 7 T-shirts for $10 shopping in a Chinatown shop.

wp2006 is staying in his well heeled relative's place at Jamaica Estate, or something like that. His relative told him Flushing is not a very nice neighborhood, which I can't agree more. So I am glad wp2006 is not staying with me, because he is too good to live in Flushing.

He said his well heeled relative told him it would only take 20 minutes to drive from Flushing to his residenece. I say take the bus or walk home, I don't drive nobody home to Jamaica Estate, no matter how much wp2006 bitched and moaned about it. Anyway he decided to take #7 with me and transfer for Q17 instead of the way he came to the city. Probably hoping that I would have a change of heart and would drive him home, after a long day. I would never reinforce his wishful thinking.

So we were there deep in the cesspool of New York City that's called Grand Central Station waiting for our train. The #7 train fucked up, no train was in sight after some 15 minutes or so. I continued to wait for my lucky #7 train even apparently there was some major delay. wp2006 went on to take the uptown #6 then E or F at 51st St then got off at Union Turnpike then the bus home (I got email from him, so he made it home last night).

wp2006 keeps complaining about the 34C heat. I say I don't believe NYC is any hotter than Hong Kong. Bitch just likes to complain.

Barber Shop in Chinatown

Nowadays I loathe to have my haircut, that's why I seldom have mine cut, maybe once or twice a year. I went back to Chinatown. I could ...
