Cheese Pizza

Okay kids, this is what the World Wide Web was invented for ...

Cheese Pizza

Traditional and comforting.
You focus on living a quality life.
You're not easily impressed with novelty.
Yet, you easily impress others.

I got the same thing as you did. No wonder we're buddies. Does that means our personalities are pretty similar? I think so.

I think I've impressed some of the students in my IPA classes. A girl said she wanted to attend my IPA class all over again, learning exactly the same things I've taught her already. And she regretted the fact that I don't teach the Spoken English class.

  2. yeah, I guess so. both of us are lazy as hell.
when I order pizza i prefer to have toppings, sausage, pepper. I don't know what the hell happened I got to be Cheese pizza. When I was in college, I had cheese pizza because that was the cheapest slice. For cheese pizza, it better be good, because nothing masks the pizza foundation.

  3. oh, the 2nd part of your comment. See no matter how repulsive or disgusting we are (or you are), there got to be some facet that shines. Or some girls who are naive enough to fall head over toe for it. Let's hope your charm rocks on in the classroom at least. I do think IPA is your niche specialty, unlike sleeping and goofing off ... buddy.

  4. Sid, maybe teaching is your true calling. Think about it. Do you need to get a teaching certificate or diploma in order to teach in colledge or secondary school?
I guess it won't be a bad idea. Maybe after you retire from your current job you can go teaching, you probably enjoy it.

I actually enjoyed teaching English phonetics and more so getting the paycheck from CU.

What's more, I think more people in HK should know English phonetics when they're still young. Most of my students, i.e. youngsters, really sucks when they're forced to speak English.

I give them one week to prepare for a short passage in the final exam. Most could not even pronouce the word "obviously" in that passage. So much for this self-styled "Asia's World City".

Yes, I think you need a teacher's certificate (Dip. Ed.) to teach in formal schools.

My plan is to accumulate as much teaching and translating experience as possible before I retire at 55. Then I may consider becoming a part-time teacher or private tutor or something.

  7. Sounds like a plan to me.
if you keep up with your maintenance, 55 is not that old at all. you just have to watch out what you eat and exercise.
I have yet to find my true calling.

  8. I was an English Major in The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Talking about English pronounciation of Hong Kong people, that's amazing. I am attending a part time MBA class and I was shocked the first time everyone needed to do a presentation. I couldn't believe there are people who speak English in that way for real. I always think people speak in that way just for fun.

  9. What's funnier than a joke is something that's unintentionally funny.

Like any good comedy, there's always a hint of sadness.

I think your comment (last 2 sentences) is very funny.

You certainly live up to your English Major credential.
