Is this picture meant for press release? The picture, make-up and costume look horrendous. The other candid shot, also appears in mingpao, shows her in the process of having her make-up done looks so ridiculously ghastly that I don't even want to post it here. She was once known for her otherworldly avant-garde, if there is such a thing, stage costume. But this is just bad costume and bad make-up and bad styling. Somebody got to help this woman.
You never know, maybe the theme from her concert is inspired by native American culture? XD
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, while it's not her best, I think she looks okay, didn't Sammi Cheng had similar style costume for her recent concert (I mean the exaggerated sculpted shapes)? At least she didn't wear a copycat swan dress a la Bjork (actually, on second thought, I'd have loved it if she did, for nostalgia sake!)
Anyway, "bad" costumes and make-up notwithstanding, I'd kill for her tickets. Pity I live far far far away.
The problem is she looks OKAY. She is Faye Wong. She should look stupendously ethereal. If anything, the costume, styling, make-up should bring that out. I think she got short changed. Or this is simply a poster that shouldn't be circulated to the press.
