Affordable And Reliable Gas Range

I am just wondering what's the most reliable stand alone gas range and oven out there that's somewhat affordable and last a lifetime if you so choose. What I have now is a gas standalone oven with a 4-head range stove top and does a reasonable good job. I never ever need to service that except the two front burners don't light up that well and very rarely the pilot lights may go out. Other than that it has been faultless. What I am afraid of the new ones are they won't last a year without sinking in a boatload of time and money for parts and repairs. I am willing to blow away like $1,000 max with tax and installation just to help the American economy.

You can't buy much gas stove for $1,000 nowadays. All you can buy is a basic model that won't rock your kitchen :-) I like Kenmore. I bought one in 1991, still working well. It was top of the line then, for $850. I think you have to spend at least $1500 for a decent one these days.

  2. Yeah, I figured that bit out after I did some searches. Anyway, there are always some cheaper alternatives. And they might just as good. Sometimes, it's just the brand allure. I am a sucker for that kind of thing. The one we have now is really old but it's good as there are no major problems that's my major concern for any new appliances, I want them just work and simple to use.

if you can find a good quality gas range at $1000, let me know!

we just moved into our new house & we replaced all the kitchen appliances. we found a commercial gas range at $1500 & we think we stole it! NXR is the brand name. my husband said it's a really great one - i have to trust him on that considering he's a pro chef...

  4. hongkie, I was looking at Garland but they are all very expensive. Wow, NXR looks good too but again the price is prohibitive. I need to have a stimulus plan to get any one of them. But then again, it's cheaper than a Nikon D700 and it's a downright bargain compared to whatever leaf or phase whatever digital backs ...

Perhaps GE's regular line is good enough.

  5. hongkie,
My present 36" is just hard to replace. For all the 36" from NXR and Garland, they all cost a fortune. I don't see anything cost $1500 from NXR. I feel so poor now.

we bought an Electrolux shortly before we moved. it was pretty good. i forgot how much we paid for it but Lowe's dishing out all kinds of deals these days you might be able to find a good deal.

sometimes you might also find great deals at non-chain stores. we found ours at a local mom-&-pop kind of appliance store, & it's a floor model.

good luck on your quest & keep us posted on your decision!

  8. In this kind of days, we should be careful in picking up gas range. A lot of accidents happened due to gas leak, gas range and a lot more.

  9. Any person who has gone camping or has a gas stove or gas heater or even a gas braai will know something about LGP gas. But do they really know what it means? Sure, they will know that it comes in canisters and is highly flammable and needs to be treated with a lot of respect, but what does LPG gas actually mean? Best 2 Burner gas stoves in India 2021

Civil War (2024)

This is basically a Dorothy yellow brick road kind of story.  Also, something to do with the new replaces the old, the circle of life thing....
