ReplyDeleteI think there'll be more to come. IMHO, being tall has its advantages in tennis. If one is under-tall, like yours truly, think table tennis instead.
ReplyDeletewhen Michael Chang was still playing, Prince made a some extra long racquets and went so far as promoting them on TV to give extra reach. Once Chang is retired, nobody is making extra long racquet for longer reach, at least I don't see any promotion of them.
ReplyDeleteBeing tall gives you better placement of the ball. The only disadvantage if you really have to bend down low to scoop certain balls or do the volleys. Goran Ivanisevic is 6'4" and I think sometimes his height really doesn't play to his advantage.
Sharapova's game is aggressive and agressive and aggressive.
Thanks partly to his magestic stature, Ivanisevic is fondly remembered for his powerful serve and aces. He's dubbed the Serving Machine by the Chinese media in HK.
