Games I play

Galloping Pigs. A rather simple game that even I manage to play with my children.

The Book of Classic Board Games. This has been hard for me. I just played along with my children. Whatever they said I believed and then I pretended I knew how to play.

Scrabble. We have the classic edition. This is an easy game in the sense that it's easy to understand the rules. When it comes to knowing the words that's a different question.

Monopoly. I think we have the classic edition as well. I never played Monopoly until now.

I never enjoyed playing any games. It's just the kids love them. I am a pretty boring person.

Alex now knows how to do a bit of algebra.

2a + 20 = 30
solve for a
and he knows the answer is 5

  3. I just picked the layout from some pre fabricated templates. Nothing too fabulous from my side.

I like to ask Alex "tough" math questions, sometimes to pass time. He's pretty good at math I think.

  4. thus ask him why 1 + 1 = 3, this is a very "tough" questions. Many supervisors like to quote it as an example of synergy, those all bull shit, actually I hate team work. I prefer to make it out by my own

  5. Synergy is a dirty word now. I don't think it's all that popular anymore. There is no such thing as 1 + 1 = 3.

  6. then tell him 1 + 1 = 0.7, I get this conclusion from my 20 years office experience, I agree with you, all those "synergy", "team work", "good team player" are bull shits. Not only dirty, should be "evil", those dirty words are used by the superiors to oppress the juniors

  7. Management and marketing buzz words come and go. Synergy was popular a while back but I don't think it's all that popular now. Team work is almost unavoidable, it's like a necessary evil for some. You just have to play along even you prefer to work alone.

  8. I've also tested Vanessa and Wolfgang with algebra problems of a similar standard. They could also do those problems. As far as maths is concerned, Vanessa always fairs better than her brother.

  9. Are both of them in ESF?
Alex likes to play all kinds of games, Gameboy included. Harry likes to play supermario.
You know Wii is coming out soon and so is Sony's PS3 which cost like $600 with all bells and whistles. I am thinking about the Wii which retails around $250. For the price of PS3, you can buy a Wii and an Xbox. I am not much of a gamer myself, actually totally inept at gaming.

  10. Yes, they are.

Wolfgang would like to own a Wii, too. That is provided there's enough space for it in front of the TV set.

  11. ESF, that's like the genuine premier international school, right? At least according to wp2006 and what I understood. It's not like one of those that operates out of some shopping mall.

Barber Shop in Chinatown

Nowadays I loathe to have my haircut, that's why I seldom have mine cut, maybe once or twice a year. I went back to Chinatown. I could ...
