Alex Watching Dora, the explorer....
Alex is watching Dora the Explorer. He's generally over the phase of watching Dora but this is one of his favorites: Ice Cream or Coney Island. This shot is taken with my Canon G3 in aperture priority. The camera is reasonaly good and flexible. For a handheld shot this close, I think it's quite sharp.
I am ordering the 1-year old Nikon D70 with the 18-70 DX lens, it should be arriving soon just don't know when.
Patience is a virtue.
By the lake
Harry is standing in front of the lake in Kissena Park. The lake just got re-built about a year ago. His playschool is also inside the park. Alex went to the same school as well.
Another shot taken with the Canon G3. Shooting into the sun with fill flash. Fair amount of barrel distortion, chromatic aberration, and lens flare, all the good stuff when shooting in sub-optimal condition.
Enter the Park
Kissena Park, that is.
Another back light shot taken with my Canon G3. I was just in the mood for back light shot with fill flash. The good thing with the G3 is you can control your shot if you want or you can let the camera do everything for you.
I shot this in Jpeg and didn't do any post processing. Straight from the camera and loaded to the blog using Picasa and Hello, honestly I think it's Hello but I don't really care, I am sure Hello won't complain about Picasa taking its credit.
There aren't many people in the park as it's still cold.
Alex and Mom were at the Chinese school and we got to do our own thing like going to the park in the cold.
Alex and Harry, yard work
Alex says he likes to shovel the snow. I am glad to hear that. My back isn't as good as it was a year ago, so I can use some help.
He is more like playing in the backyard. I don't really care about the snow in the backyard. But that's a start.
Harry wants to join in the fun as well.
