Fifty Shades of Grey
Unless you live under a rock or out of this world, you probably have heard of this so called mommy porn, Fifty Shades of Grey, E L James' fan fiction based on the tremendously successful Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, which is a best seller in its own right and not so surprisingly soon to be a motion picture near you. Of all the unbelievable stuff in the book, I found the bit that the protagonist Anastasia Steele doesn't have her own computer the most unbelievable. And mind you the story is set in the very near past like 2010 or something and Steele is a college student major in English literature. The book says she uses the computer at school or from work or share one with her housemate. Wow. I can't comment on all the mommy porn stuff as I am out of my depth in that department (OKAY, they are salacious, hot and funny). I read the e-book version on my sucky htc EVO 4G from the library. The whole process is not exactly intuitive and actually quite annoying, I got it work but don't ask me how. The book is supposed to self destruct when expired so nothing to return. The good thing about e-reading is nobody knows you are reading Fifty Shades of Grey. Not that there is anything wrong with it.

I guess I can't enjoy audio book. My listening is poor plus I can't listen faster or slower. I have no experience with audio book at all.
DeleteNever heard of mommy porn before. Has it become a genre in its own right? Porn is porn. Be it mommy or daddy. I find the Twilight series movies horrible. I don't expect anything good from the printed versions, either. I saw one with a free movie ticket and in my rating it's the worst of the worse of movies.
ReplyDeleteAmerica is indeed very advanced. You borrow an ebook without the need to return it to the public library. This sounds like something from the future to me. I don't see why you called your htc EVO 4G sucky. It's a 4G phone, right? Not 3G. I think it's very handsome cellphone. But my colleagues keep saying they do not like the htc smartphones they once owned. What do you think about yours, buddy?
the EVO 4G has one big fault. The mini USB port is faulty. I can't get a data connection. Up until recently the internal memory 510mb runs out and keep saying low in memory, ie. the exteranl 8GB memory really can't help. A software upgrade from Sprint fixed this always low on memory problem. But still, the mini USB connectivity remains a hardware unfixed problem.

Deletebasically the Sprint evo 4g is annoyance. I don't sync with my PC often at all. But I like it to work when I need it to work. It bothers me that it doesn't work.
DeleteI bot the Fifty Shades of Grey at the HK Book Fair two weeks ago for hkd 68 from the 田园书店 stall. I don't understand why the same book sells for hkd 120 in other places of the same Book Fair. Do you think it is a good idea to bring this book to North Korea?

When in doubt don't do it. You can't survive the labor camp. You probably can finish the book in a few days even before you go. I heard Mikey and Minnie are safe now. bring them and you may find yourself a good wife. Please keep us posted about your trip.
